David Lee Roth is 'throwing in the shoes,' announces retirement following Vegas farewell

Rock icon David Lee Roth has officially announced his retirement, revealing the news in a phone interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Roth, 66, gave a short but sweet explanation, saying he’s “throwing in the shoes. I’m retiring." Adding, "this is the first, and only, official announcement... share it with the world."

"I’m not going to explain the statement. The explanation is in a safe," Roth says. "These are my last five shows."

DLR will be ending his performing career with a series of shows at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas later this year and into early 2022. Tickets for each show of the residency can be purchased here.
