While we’re not here for this type of disrespect for our mans, we are all for it bringing to light a potential COVID-19 side effect that you might have not previously known about.

Okay so basically, after a Drake fan account posted some studio pics with a caption referring to his heart-shaped haircut as “stressed 💀😭,” Drake saw and proceeded to light-heartedly alert the outspoken fan, telling him, “I had COVID that s*** grew in weird I had to start again 😂,” and then added, “It's coming back don't diss.” No but like seriously tho, don’t diss.

According to a recent pre-print study from Indiana University, temporary hair loss is a fairly common side effect of COVID-19. As findings showed, around 33% of patients surveyed noticed it as a symptom. As explained, hair loss, also known as an effect called telogen effluvium, frequently happens when stress levels are high. And a severe illnesses like COVID-19 can increasingly stress out the body.

Although it’s unclear exactly when Drake had COVID-19, he actually isn’t the only celeb to experience hair loss as a symptom. After digging into our archives we we’re reminded that last year in August, Alyssa Milano posted a video to Twitter demonstrating her coronavirus hair loss as she brushed it. She captioned the post, “Thought I’d show you what #Covid19 does to your hair. Please take this seriously. #WearADamnMask #LongHauler.”

Look while we’re certainly glad Drake’s COVID woes are behind him (well almost), as it begins to creep towards the end of summer, aka the timeframe Drake hinted he’d finally drop Certified Lover Boy, after initially pushing back its release, we’re truly hoping (unlike Kanye) this time he actually follows through - fully recovered receded heart hairline or not.

As always, if you love Drizzy, which we’re guessing you do, you can fulfill all your “Wants and Needs” by listening to Audacy’s Drake Radio exclusive station for all his hits plus a mix of similar artists, while we wait for “What’s Next.”
