Only weeks after putting her Beverly Hills mansion on the market, Ellen DeGeneres has sold the California home for around $47 million, netting a $4.5 million profit.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the talk show host and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, had originally listed the property for $53.5 million. The couple purchased the home in 2019 from musician Adam Levine for $42.5 million.
The Maroon 5 front man and his wife, model Behati Prinsloo, purchased the estate for $33.9 million and invested around $7 million in upgrades.
The identity of the buyer has not been disclosed, though previous owners include tennis legend Pete Sampras and “Will & Grace” co-creator Max Mutchnik.
The recently-renovated 10,000 square foot home features five bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a 50-foot living room with a stone fireplace, a paneled library, a screening room, a private gym, and a two-story entrance foyer.
The ivy-covered estate also has a guest house, an outdoor kitchen, a swimming pool, and a sunken tennis court on the grounds.
This is not the first home flip for DeGeneres and de Rossi: the couple turned a $6 million profit after selling their Bali-inspired mansion in Montecito, California for $33.3 million in November of 2020.
They also own a $3 million home in the Hollywood Hills, an $18 million property in Carpinteria, California, and last year purchased a $49 million estate in Montecito from comedian Dennis Miller and his wife, former model Carolyn Espley-Miller.
