Eva Mendes proved she is no stranger to the phrase “beauty is pain.”
On Thursday, the actress shocked her 2.4 million Instagram followers with a photo of what appeared to be seven needles injected into her jaw line.
Mendes explained in her caption that she was getting “mono-thread treatment,” a procedure that is intended to boost collagen production and lift sagging skin.
Despite what seems to be a painful sacrifice for a youthful chin, the injections didn’t stop her from smiling in the photo and relaxing on a spa bed.

“This is my go to for all things beauty,” Mendes captioned the post. “A home where you can relax while being tortured by the best of the best. This is my happy place!”
Fans were quick to respond.
One user asked the question many were wondering: “Does it hurt?”
“I’m in pain just looking at this picture!” another fan exclaimed.
“My threshold for pain is low! It looks more invasive than it is,” Mendes assured her fans.
Mendes thanked her beauty technician by promoting Dr. Mariana Vergara, a Latina-owned business in Beverly Hills, CA.
The post comes a month after Eva Mendes hinted that she wants to return to acting.
