Initially, the two iconic groups were set to headline the Harvard Athletic Complex-based festival in 2020, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, before the festival had to be canceled in March of 2020.

Now, in 2022 the two bands will be joined by 60 other acts, including one more headline to be announced at a later time.

For Rage Against The Machine, their set at Boston Calling will be their only New England stop on their tour, also their first tour in over ten years. Additionally, the Foo Fighters will hit the stage just one year after ringing in their 25th anniversary and debuting their 10th studio album.

Boston Calling co-founder, Brian Appel stated in a press release, “We couldn’t be happier to return in 2022 and deliver a full-scale festival with two of the world’s most celebrated rock bands as our headliners.”

“We’ve spent the past year working on a festival that our fans can really look forward to, and we’re so excited to share more news and surprises as we get into next year.”

As of now, it is not clear if the 60-plus acts included on the 2020 lineup are also slated for the 2022 festival. Festival organizers have shared that additional info about the lineup, food vendors and more, will arrive throughout the year.

Early bird tickets are currently on sale at bostoncalling.com.
