It’s Friday, it’s payday and it’s Crash day! Charli XCX’s new album opens with the British Popstar telling us that she’s “high voltage, self-destructive, end it all so legendary,” and reminding us that she’s back with a bang and a lot of blood.

Keep all the new releases on your radar every new music Friday with the Audacy All New station. Listen now!

The singer's fifth studio album takes Charli’s hyper-pop motif up about 100 levels and leaves fans with a high-octane, audacious record that pushes boundaries in order to call out the way labels have infamously been known to manipulate young female artists.

The new record is also the final project to come from Charli’s five-album deal with Atlantic. In the end, the “Baby” singer is left standing in the wreckage of her Crash, emerging as a latex-laden vixen drenched in blood, with over-teased, sky-high black locks of hair and a steel grasp on how she will personally be dictating her music career moving forward.

In Charli’s Crash era, the artist has delivered visuals and performances that touch on her desire to feed the “main pop girl” but never disregard the artist’s devilish sense of humor and her subversive taste for camp and rebellion.

Here are our favorite Crash era Charli XCX moments thus far:

'Saturday Night Live' 'Beg For You' Performance

When Charli took the Saturday Night Live stage to perform “Beg For You,” the sheer passion oozing from the artist was palpable. Initially, the singer was supposed to perform in December 2021, but her performance slot was abruptly postponed due to the COVID-19 Omicron variant outbreak that halted shows and live events across the country at the end of last year. When XCX finally returned to the stage on March 5, the artist brought an exuberant electronic performance to the variety show stage. Many fans now regard the performance as one of the best electronic performances to take place on SNL.

'Rolling Stone' UK Latex Look

Gracing the digital cover of Rolling Stone UK, Charli XCX went full throttle to debut her latex vixen visuals. Lensed by Jack Bridgland and wearing House of Harlot, Charli’s 1980s, almost Hustler-inspired images signaled that fans could expect a big aesthetic change-up from the powerhouse Pop Queen.

'Baby' Music Video

As Charli told fans across social media after debuting her fourth single “Baby,” the choreography and dance that she employed in the music video allowed her to find a “new lease on life and way to channel my energy.” The artist especially shared thanks for her choreographer, Nathan Kim, who helped her create one of her most dance-heavy visuals to date.

Charli XCX & Rina Sawayama’s Powerful Bond

Coming together to collaborate on “Beg For You,” Rina Sawayama and Charli’s friendship has blossomed. The duo has shown the world the respect they hold for each other in touching social media posts and behind-the-scenes moments. Their collaboration on “Beg For You” is the product of two esteemed artists gracefully supporting each other. In a post celebrating the release of Crash, Rina wrote, “it’s been so inspiring to watch u work and the way u approach music and artists with so much creative generosity. a true pop genius and the hardest working (and SWEETEST 🥺) gal!!”

'Crash' Release Dinner Party Outfit

Stepping out on March 17 to celebrate the arrival of Crash, Charli headed to London’s Sexy Fish restaurant in a bold statement t-shirt that left stans across Twitter gasping for air. Not only did the “Good Ones” artist make her pink baby-T look flawless, but the shirt also read “They don’t build statues of critics,” leaving flames of commentary in her wake just hours before the official release of her fifth studio album.
