With the polls officially closed at midnight on Friday, April 28, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced this year's fan-favorite winner -- gathering over a million thumbs-up from the voting public.

It should be mentioned that this marks just one more step forward in late Wham! singer and beloved solo artist George Michael's first-time nomination for posthumous induction, as the fan vote counts as just one amongst the rest of close to 1,000 other votes to be submitted by music industry insiders.
It certainly does help, though. Since the 'Fan Vote's inception in 2013, only Dave Matthews Band (2020) has not been included in their year's class of inductees. Last year's 'Fan Vote' winner was Duran Duran who subsequently went on to be inducted. Take a look at the official 'Fan Vote' tally below:

The full class of 2023 inductees is expected to be announced soon, with this year’s nomination list also featuring fellow first-time nominees Missy Elliott, Warren Zevon, Willie Nelson, The White Stripes, Sheryl Crow, Cyndi Lauper, and Joy Division/New Order.
Additionally, the impressive nominee list includes second-time nods for Metal masters Iron Maiden, Seattle grunge icons Soundgarden, Hip-Hop pioneers A Tribe Called Quest, and more, while Rage Against The Machine is celebrating a fifth nomination with hopes of finally making it onto the induction roster this year.
