L.A.’s GROUPLOVE have released their official video for “Inside Out,” off their fourth studio album Healer released just as the pandemic struck in March of 2020.
In the new clip, husband/wife duo Hannah Hooper and Christian Zucconi are seen jogging through the barren streets of their hometown, passing groups of covered up faces waving at them as they hang around in front of closed businesses. The upbeat track however, will have you seeing right through their masks at the smiles underneath -- giving a sense of hope in these trying times.
The clip was directed by Chris Blauvelt, who also directed the band’s music videos for “Deleter” and “Youth.”
"’Inside out’ is the realization that change comes from within,” Christian shares in a press release about the song’s visual, “and the video is acknowledging that we can’t run from that change anymore."
While under stay-at-home orders, the band has been keeping quite busy, joining their labelmates for a moving performance of Bob Dylan’s “Shelter From The Storm,” encouraging support for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund and Help Musicians UK.
In June, the band dropped an unreleased demo of “Shout Shout Shout” to their Bandcamp to raise funds for Campaign Zero -- an organization fighting to end police brutality -- and in early July they released a fan favorite from their live shows, the official cover of Robyn’s classic anthem “Dancing On My Own.”
