Metallica is currently in the midst of celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Black Album as their iconic record recently re-entered the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. In late September, the album shot all the way up to the number nine spot on the chart.
According to Billboard, the album last appeared in the top 10 on the August 22, 1992 chart when it was in the tenth position. The record gave Metallica their first ever number one on the chart as it debuted on the top spot back on August 31, 1991.
The album spent four consecutive weeks at number one and has spent a total of 625 weeks on the chart since its release. Billboard says The Black Album has spent the fourth-most weeks on the Billboard 200 chart since the list began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in 1956. It is also the most weeks on the list for any album since May, 1991.
