Observant “Jeopardy!” fans have voiced their concern and confusion over two very different host introductions at the start of season 38 episodes.
Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik share hosting duties on the game show following Mike Richards’ exit and the passing of the beloved longtime host, Alex Trebek.

According to Decider, fans noticed that the announcer, Johnny Gilbert, switches up the introduction depending on whether Jennings or Bialik is hosting that day.
When Jennings takes the podium, Gilbert states: “And now hosting “Jeopardy!,” Ken Jennings.”
However, when Bialik is the host, Gilbert welcomes her to the set by saying: “And now here is the host of “Jeopardy!,” Mayim Bialik.”
While at first glance, it may not seem like a huge difference, fans were befuddled considering one simply says Jennings is hosting while the other calls Bialik the host.
One fan took to Twitter to question why she is being “introduced as "the host of Jeopardy" & Ken is introduced as "hosting Jeopardy"??? It's an insult & totally ridiculous. Stick with Ken Jennings.”
A second fan added that they think the “pace on @Jeopardy is much faster, and more interesting, with #KenJennings than #MayimBialik.”
Others came to the defense of Bialik, with one fan noting that they like “both Ken & @missmayim equally” as they are “both unique in their own way. We have the best of both worlds.”
Another fan reiterated that they think Bialik “is simply delightful as a @Jeopardy host. I love to watch both @missmayim and @KenJennings.”
While these are all just opinions, the outlet surmised why Bial and Jenning’s greeting titles might differ.
The grreeting conundrum might all boil down to the roles that they were hired for.
Bialek was hired as a host for “Jeopardy!” specials, while Jennings was hired as a guest host for the game show in the interim.

Therefore, Bialik is considered an official host even if she’s not appearing in every episode, while Jennings is filling in and may not stick around once a new host is hired.
That is unless the game show hires Jennings on a permanent basis and gives him “the host of Jeopardy!” title.
Based on all the Twitter love pouring out for Jennings, fans wouldn’t mind that one bit!
