Djo, also known as Joe Keery, also also know to Stranger Things fans as Steve Harrington, is already into his next chapter after a massively successful 2024 with the viral hit, “End of Beginning.” Now as he's just a few weeks away from a new album and a mostly sold out run of shows around the world, he's joining us for an Audacy Check In.
“When you're acting, you're kind of using your own personal experience, at least the way that I'm doing it. I'm using my own experience, kind of like filtering it through a character's life or something,” explains Keery on the difference between his two professions. “But when I'm writing these songs, it's just about my life. And if you're playing them live, you're just singing about your life. So there is a different level of maybe exposure.”
“That was the goal on all of these songs is to make them as personal as possible and to get out of the way, I guess.”
