Kane Brown isn’t the biggest fan of gender reveals. When he and his wife Katelyn had one during her recent pregnancy with their daughter Kodi, it didn’t go the way that he had initially hoped for.

Brown joined Audacy’s Josh, Rachael, and Grunwald from the 2022 ACM Awards and recalled the gender reveal party he and his wife had for their newborn daughter before she was born.
Video footage from the event exists, but hasn’t seen the light of day yet. “I don’t know why we haven’t posted that,” Kane said. Since it hasn’t been shared with the public, he gave us a sneak peek at what the footage contains. “In the video, I feel bad because you can kind of see me get upset,” Brown said.
“I wanted a boy, because then I’ll have one girl and one boy. I think we did the balloon thing, [but] I honestly don’t remember.” When he saw the pink dust come out, Brown said that he “squeezed something and was like, ‘mmmmmmmm!’”
Nevertheless, Brown has admitted that being a girl dad is amazing and that he’s absolutely loving it.

The announcement of Katelyn’s second pregnancy came as a surprise to fans as the couple waited a long time to share the news with the public. While keeping it secret may seem like a daunting task, Kane says “it wasn’t really that hard.”
“We just stayed off social media,” he added.
There was also another reason for keeping it a secret. When Katelyn was pregnant with their first daughter, Kingsley, the Brown’s weren’t ready to share the news with the world yet. Before going public with the news, he sent some pictures to his family that ended up making their way to Facebook. “The fans knew about it before we were trying to announce it,” he said. “You can’t trust nobody man!”

On the music front, the 2022 ACM Awards promise to be an exciting time for Brown. He has a total of three nominations, all of which are for his hit collaboration “Famous Friends” with Chris Young.
“I’m really excited for Chris,” Kane said. “Famous Friends” is up for Single of the Year, Video of the Year, and Music Event of the Year as Young’s album of the same name is also up for Album of the Year. With all of the accolades the song has received and the possibility of adding more, Brown joked that he’ll happily “take credit for it.”
