Kelly Clarkson gave her fans a serious case of déjà vu.
To kick off Friday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” the 37-year-old belted out Aretha Franklin’s classic “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.”
While Clarkson opens each episode by performing her own version of a popular song in the segment dubbed Kellyoke, she chose the Queen of Soul’s track to honor International Women’s Day on Sunday.
“Natural Woman” also has an extra special meaning as Clarkson previously performed it back in the summer of 2002, when she was competing on the first season of “American Idol.”
As everyone knows, Clarkson would go on to win it all and be crowned the show’s first winner.
Although 18 years have passed since she first took the stage and rocked out to Aretha's tune, Clarkson’s vocal chops have only gotten better.
Now a seasoned singer - as well as talk show host - Clarkson is also sharing her talents with the next generation of wannabe pop stars as a judge on “The Voice.”
But this week, the “Since You Been Gone” songstress got the shock of her life when her chair malfunctioned while filming the NBC competition series.
The incident occurred after Clarkson hit her button to spin the chair around for contestant Samuel Wilco after he wowed her with his cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Lately." As she spun around and stood to applaud, her chair malfunctioned and turned right back around to face the audience, nearly knocking her over.
Initially thinking it was a prank at the hands of co-star Blake Shelton, a stage-hand quickly rushed the set to rectify the technical problem.
The mother of two will continue doing double duty on “The Voice” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show” as the daytime talker has already been renewed for a second season.
In April, she's also set to host the Billboard Music Awards for a third year in a row.
It’s clear that Clarkson has a lot to sing about these days.
