Kendrick Lamar closed his headline Glastonbury set with a powerful protest. While performing "Savior” at the festival in England over the weekend, the rapper made a plea for women’s rights.

"I wear this crown. They judge Christ. They judge you, they judge Christ," the rapper said on stage, while wearing a diamond-encrusted crown of thorns. During the "Savior” rendition, fake blood poured down from Lamar’s crown and onto his face and shirt. "They judge you, they judge Christ. Godspeed for women's rights," the rapper chanted repeatedly towards the end of his set as he exited the stage.
The theatrical performance arrived two days after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, ending the constitutional right to abortion in America. Other Glastonbury Festival performers such as Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Lorde and Phoebe Bridgers condemned the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on stage as well.
The GRAMMY-winning artist additionally performed "N95" and "United in Grief” from his latest album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. Released last month, Lamar’s fifth studio album peaked at No.1 Billboard 200 Chart.
