During a conversation with Audacy’s Morgan Freed on Emo Nite, LILHUDDY filled us in on his first live, acoustic, performance of “The Eulogy of You and Me,” which took place at Los Angeles’ WHISKY a GOGO and gave us an idea about what’s ahead as live shows are beginning to remerge.

Hudson shares that one of the reasons he chose to record an acoustic version of “The Eulogy of You and Me” was because “I think there was a lot of emotion that people were missing,” shares the artist. He adds, “A soft, more acoustic version shows the rawness and the emotion of the song itself and so that’s why we were like 'why wouldn’t we do an acoustic for this song?’”

Throughout the pandemic, LILHUDDY has been ideating on what a live show might look like for him, and with vaccination rates climbing at an optimistic pace in California, live shows have the potential to be back later this year. Chase tells us, “I’m excited about all of that. I don’t have anything fully decked and prepared, we don’t even know what to expect for the closing of quarantine and the shows reopening… but when they do I’m going to go harder than everyone else.”

LILHUDDY has been labeled a rising star who is partly responsible for the powerful resurgence of pop-punk. “It’s really crazy and hard for me to process,” explains the singer, who grew up on My Chemical RomanceAll American RejectsAvril LavigneBlink-182, and more.

Throughout 2020 and the pandemic, HUDDY has been restricted in terms of having studio time and really being able to form his own writing process. Being limited to Zoom session has left the artist with somewhat of a “laidback” process, but he says, “it’s been good for me because I have been able to get a lot done.”
