St. Vincent dropped a cover of the Lipps Inc. classic “Funkytown” that’s set to appear on the Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack. The single, which was produced by Jack Antonoff, is a fresh take on the funky classic.

Using a vocoder to deliver robotic, futuristic sounding vocals alongside a driving, well, funky beat, it’s a song that’ll get you up and dancing in no time. Phoebe Bridgers, Diana Ross, Tame Impala, and more are set to join St. Vincent on the Minions soundtrack.

St. Vincent recently scored her third GRAMMY win for her fantastic 2021 record Daddy's Home. Taking home Best Alternative Album, St. Vincent added to her impressive trophy case as she previously won the Best Alternative Album for her eponymous 2014 album, and Best Rock Song for her track “MASSEDUCTION" in 2017.
