She said it, and she meant it, Megan Thee Stallion is acting upon her latest single, “Don’t Stop,” and actually not stopping.
Our favorite hot girl has been nonstop extending her hot girl summer into a whole hot girl year, but like for real. Here are the highlights — In April she teamed up with Amazon to give back to her hometown of Houston amid the ongoing coronavirus and also released the “Savage Remix” featuring Beyoncé. May brought her a new puppy named Dos, followed by a single,“Girls in the Hood.” BET nominations turned to wins, plus that epic performance in June.
And then July, which wasn’t so great… (hint: it involved her foot). August was when the world was blessed with her and Cardi B’s collab, “WAP.” And in September she got another puppy. Bringing us to October, and the release of “Don’t Stop” featuring Young Thug, as well as Meg slaying as the musical guest on SNL.
Okay we’d say that covers it, actually no, we’re not finished yet, correction Megan isn’t. Once again teaming up with Amazon, Megan has released an official announcement for the ‘Don’t Stop’ Scholarship Fund, “in honor of all the young women out there who ‘Don’t Stop’ working hard to get their education, as well as in celebration of her latest single, ‘Don’t Stop’ ft. Young Thug.”
Throughout the last few months Megan has been very vocal about her opinion on the treatment of women in today’s society, especially Black women. Speaking out verbally, through social and via her performances, and now with this scholarship fund.
As per the official statement, “women remain underrepresented and undervalued in society and female students of color are at a larger disadvantage when it comes to access to financial resources.” Megan’s mission, “as a Health Care Administration major studying at Texas Southern University” is about “the transformative power of education” and to “advocate for women pursuing a college degree.”
Meg’s partnership with Amazon Music will “award two scholarships to female students pursuing an Associates, Bachelors or Postgraduate Degree in any field.”
