Throat singing new life into an old classic, The HU have debuted their “hunnu rock” cover of Metallica’s “Sad But True,” and truthfully it is anything but sad, actually it’s rather epic.

Listen to your favorite Rock music now on RADIO.COM.

With their own unique take of the beloved classic, The HU uses their distinct style to transform it into something completely new, with the addition of traditional Mongolian instrumentation paired with their signature style of throat singing. While the same distorted guitar melody from it’s original version is still present, The HU opted to swap out the song’s English lyrics for their native language, Mongolian, and even featured their traditional "Hu! Hu! Hu!" chant.

The song’s visual while, no doubt very strange, had us unable to look away. Featuring raging lighting storms, blazing fires, lots of head banging, and we’re sure some type of deeper hidden message that clearly went right above our heads. Regardless, it was dope.

When talking to Revolver about the cover, Gala, throat singer and Morin Khuur player said, “Metallica has been a huge influence and inspiration for us as music fans and musicians. We admire their 40 years of relentless touring and the timeless, unique music they have created. It is a great honor to show them our respect and gratitude by recording a version of 'Sad But True' in our language and in the style of The Hu.”

With this cover, The HU launches the first release of The Best Of Better Noise Music: 15 Years Of Rock series, featuring song covers from the Better Noise Music label. Other acts on the label include Five Finger Death Punch, Mötley Crüe, Papa Roach, From Ashes To New and All That Remains.

Okay, enough blabbering, now that we’ve talked it up and then some, we know you want to watch and listen for yourself.
