Minnie John, a resident of New Jersey, was traversing a trail in the park with her husband and son when she began to get lightheaded, according to ABC 7 New York.
After telling her family members to go on without her, John sat down to catch her breath and get some rest. She wound up fainting and hit her head on a rock.
When she came to, she realized she was being helped by a woman with a “familiar voice.”
“All I remember is sitting there with my head in my hands secure on the rock. Next thing I hear someone with a familiar voice kept asking me questions. I wondered if i might be watching TV,” John recounted in a Facebook post and included a photo with Bowen.
“My eyes were closed and they said I will be fine and they were cleaning my face and bandaging me up. I heard that familiar voice saying I am going to be ok, a doctor is cleaning me up.”
She soon realized the familiar voice was the “Modern Family” actress. The doctor turned out to be Bowen’s sister, Annie, who was visiting the park with her famous sibling.
The Bowen sisters then used the woman’s phone to reunite her with her husband and son.
John went on to praise her rescuers by saying “they were God sent.”
“It was no accident they were there. They gave me electrolytes, medicines and pretzels with peanut butter. You see I forgot I was a diabetic. I only had my flask of water with me,” John continued. "I passed out because my sugar went low and dehydration!"
John eventually made it to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a fractured nose and received 5 stitches.
Although Bowen has not publicly commented on the incident, she has shared photos and videos from her family trip to Moab, Utah.
