She famously played a psychic on TV, but Patricia Arquette could have used a medium before going on a date with man who was later convicted of murder.
The Oscar winner disclosed her bizarre evening in response to a Twitter thread that asked, "What's the most awkward date y'all ever been on?"
“Second date. Pro skateboarder. Really cute. Friends with my friends,” the “True Romance” star wrote. “We made out but something about how he kissed me freaked me out. I gave him a fake number.”
Her gut feelings about the date turned out to point to something much more grisly.
“Years later he killed his girlfriend,” the 53-year-old added.
Arquette later confirmed the identity of her date was former pro skateboarder Mark 'Gator' Rogowski, who was convicted of murder in 1991.
When pressed what about his kiss made her apprehensive, the actress elaborated.
“It felt aggressive. Like pushing me back hard with his jaw and it felt like it was angry,” she wrote.
Rogowski was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering 22-year-old model Jessica Bergsten in March 1991. He is currently serving a 31-year sentence and had his request for parole denied last year by California Governor Gavin Newsom, reported the LA Times.
Arquette ended her dating tale by adding, “Moral to the story- Trust your instincts.”
On a less deadly note, the former “Medium” star would go on to have a son, Enzo Rossi, now 32, with boyfriend Paul Rossi.
She was married to Nicolas Cage from 1995 to 2000 and to actor Thomas Jane from 2006 to 2011. Arquette and Jane share 18-year-old daughter, Harlowe.
