Hours ahead of Poison's scheduled set in Nashville last Thursday (6/30) as part of The Stadium Tour with Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Joan Jett Michaels was rushed to a local hospital forcing the band to cancel their entire set at the last minute.
With Bret's health status unclear, there was no telling how long Poison would be absent from the tour, but it turned out to only affect the one show in Nashville. While admittedly not fully recovered, Michaels hit the stage Saturday (July 2) for the first date following Nashville in Jacksonville, FL.
“It has been a rough couple of days for me,” Micheals shared in a video posted early on Saturday. “I just want to say to everyone, thank you – it means the world to me. I’m here in Jacksonville and I’m ready to rock. I’m going to give you a thousand per cent of everything I got in the tank right now. I’m not feeling my Sunday best but I’m gonna keep rockin’; I’m gonna burn it.”
Michaels proceeded to rock a seven-song set in the rain, a shortened version of the band’s typical 11-song show.
“Jacksonville, Florida fans in the pouring rain rocked my world,” Michaels posted following the show. “Seriously love you and sorry I was sick.”
Michaels had the remainder of the weekend to recover and ready himself to take the stage in Kansas City on July 5.
