Radiohead joined TikTok on April 1 (not a joke) and shared a dystopian video clip that fits perfectly with the band’s theme.

The video clip opens up with the mysterious Radiohead associate, Chieftain Mews, sitting at a news desk with the band’s logo displayed in the background. “Say something,” someone tells him off camera as Mews replies “Well, what do you want me to say?”

”TikTok. Tick, tock, tick, tock,” he says before static cuts across the screen and resumes with Mews saying “have a good day.”

The band’s black and white video features a clip of their 1997 OK Computer track “Paranoid Android” as the soundtrack in the background.

“‘Proud to be joining the TikTok revolution,’” the description on the band’s TikTok account reads.

While their TikTok account could be an April Fools prank, it may also serve as a teaser that new music might be on the way.

At the end of 2020, Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood penned a letter to fans expressing optimism that they can reconvene to make music soon.

“I also hope that somehow we can be part of making music for you soon, and that the pleasure of making music, and hearing music, whether in a gig, concert hall, church, or at home with friends—is not forgotten in this desolate year,” he wrote at the time.
