Audacy host Dallas recently caught up with Mitch and Jakob to chat about all of the exciting happenings for the band recently.

You just got to play Red Rocks, what was that experience like for you guys as a band with Colorado ties?

"It was totally surreal," says Jakob. "It's been a few weeks since that night now and I still have trouble processing that we actually did that. Mitch, Nic, and I all grew up in Colorado, and collectively we've seen countless shows at Red Rocks and have dreamt of playing it ourselves for so many years. To share the stage with a band we all love and look up to in Mt. Joy was also an honor."

Is there a country you've visited for school or for fun that you'd like to make it to for a RMCM show?

Mitch says,"Australia and New Zealand. Amazing people, rich music history, and many sights I still want to see there," while Jakob adds, "I would absolutely love to play a show in Italy."

How has the longevity and continued discovery of "Evergreen" felt for you all?

"It's been really encouraging," says Jakob. "'Evergreen' was the first song we ever made; we recorded it in a tiny closet under a staircase at Nic's house, and had no idea that 7 years later it would open the door for us to travel around the world and play our music for so many people in so many places. We're very grateful for it all. That song alone really rejuvenated this project after a while of us three all doing our own things in different states and countries, so in a way 'Evergreen' brought us back together, musically at least. Now we get to do this music thing full time and there's nothing any of us would rather be doing."

How does it feel to have a version featuring caamp?

"The Caamp version is unreal. We've always loved their music, so to have them on a song of ours now is truly an honor. We met them for the first time at Out of the Blue, and later got to work with them at their studio in Ohio which was also our very first time in a proper studio space. We spent the day with them and it was cool to be involved in each other's creative process. They brought their magic to the new version of 'Evergreen' and we are so happy and proud of that new song, and very grateful that we got to do it with them. They are great people."

You've been part of several big ones, what's your favorite festival experience so far this year?

"My personal favorite," Jakob says, "has been Hinterland, so far. We've played it two years in a row now, and it feels great that they wanted us back after our Campfire Stage performance, which was one of our favorites to date. Playing the mainstage this year was awesome and I hope we can keep running it back. Maybe in 2 or 3 years, we'll headline. Who knows?"

"This is a hard question, we've been a part of some seriously incredible fests this year. If I had to choose, my favorite," Mitch says, "was either Out of the Blue or Hinterland. Both lineups were elite; it's really special to play a festival and spend the rest of the weekend chasing down sets of acts you've wanted to see for ages."

The band is touring North America throughout the fall, dates can be found here.
