Together Joel and Rodrigo, who famously name-checked the Piano Man in her 2021 hit “Deja Vu” — “And I bet that she knows Billy Joel / ’Cause you played her ‘Uptown Girl’ / You’re singing it together” — fittingly sang Joel’s classic tune, after letting Rodrigo have all of the spotlight on “Deja Vu.”

Fan-girling over the experience, Rodrigo took to share her excitement, writing "I SANG WITH BILLY JOEL AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN TODAY ARE U KIDDING,” atop a video of the MSG crowd singing along to Joel's classic "Piano Man.”

Joel’s record-breaking residency at MSG began in January 2014, with the musician playing one sold-out show a month.

Marking this month’s occasion, The Garden and Billy’s official IG account posted "Olivia Rodrigo makes a special appearance at Billy Joel's 82nd residency show at MSG!,” along with a couple of shots from the night.

Joel’s final four shows of the year at the venue are set for Sept. 9, Oct. 9, Nov. 23 and Dec. 19.
