The rumors were true. Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers are getting married.
On an episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Woodley confirmed her engagement to the Green Bay Packers quarterback.
The 29-year-old actress joked about how she never thought she would marry someone who “throws balls for a living.”
“Yes, we are engaged,” Woodley told Fallon. “But for us, it’s not new news, you know, so it’s kind of funny. Everyone right now is freaking out over it and we’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while.’ “
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the actress explained how she hasn’t watched her fiancé play in a game. The “Big Little Lies” star mentioned how all the stadiums were closed that Rodgers was playing in. Woodley said that she has “never seen one football game before.”
“I don’t know him as a football guy,” Woodley continued. “I know him as like the nerd who wants to host 'Jeopardy!' That’s the dude I know. He just happens to be very good at sports,” Woodley added.
The shocking news comes after the quarterback announced that he was engaged at the NFL MVP Awards, where he also won.
At the ceremony, Rodgers did not say who his fiancée is, but reports before the awards linked him to the 29-year-old actress. The Packers quarterback previously was dating former professional racing car driver Danica Patrick.
