They say never meet your heroes. Actor Christian Navarro thankfully did not listen to that maxim.
15 years ago, Navarro was just a nine-year old Bronx kid who was a big fan of “Law & Order.” Once, when the show was filming in his New York City neighborhood, he ran down to watch the filming. He even got to meet some of the cast.

Since that inspiring day, Navarro has immersed himself much deeper into the acting world, establishing himself as a character actor in series such as "13 Reasons Why" and "Vinyl." But his most recent gig has him hyping it a little more. Why?
He finally got on “Law & Order.” And as Today reported, he just had to share the news to his Instagram.
As seen in a series of photos, the actor is beaming over his thespian fortune after appearing in a recent episode of “Law & Order: SVU.” First, there’s a shot of him pointing at a “No Parking” sign near where the shoot was happening – in the same neighborhood where he first ran out to watch filming!
“[Full] circle. 15 years ago @nbclawandorder filmed an episode in Hunts Point and I begged my old man to let me go down stairs and try to meet them," Navarro said in the caption. "I did. They were all exceedingly kind and gracious. Fast forward 15 years and I’m filming my own guest star spot on the same block in my old hood with @therealmariskahargitay In case you needed any reminders: YOUR DREAMS ARE VALID!"
Then, Navarro shared a recent smiling snap with star Mariska Hargitay, with the caption, "It was always a dream of mine to go toe to toe with you Mariska, and my heart is full. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Wolf Entertainment – the production company behind "SVU” – thought it was a pretty cool story too, and posted the same shot with Hargitay on its own Instagram, four days after Navarro’s episode aired.
"@christianleenavarro first met @therealmariskahargitay at age 9 when #SVU was filming in his childhood neighborhood," the company wrote in the caption. "He met her again years later, and she encouraged him to chase his dreams of becoming an actor."
Earlier last week, Navarro shared a picture of himself acting on the show, but these latest shots went full fanboy. He even offered a photo of himself holding up the “SVU” t-shirt he got as swag.
"If they only gave me the shirt,” he said, “I probably would’ve said yes to the role anyway. Don’t tell them that though."
