Teresa Giudice’s boyfriend had a previous brush with law.

While the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star has been dating Luis Ruelas since the end of last year, he was allegedly charged with assault back in 2018.

According to Page Six, Ruelas was involved in a road rage incident in Allendale, New Jersey in August 2018 after another driver stopped suddenly to avoid a squirrel.

The outlet obtained the police report which noted Ruelas attempted to pass the driver and was given the finger. Ruelas allegedly pulled in front of the vehicle at a stop sign, "charged at (his) driver's side door,” and a verbal argument ensued.

According to the police report, Ruelas then put his hand inside the man’s vehicle and struck him on the side of his head.

“Luis then grabbed the top of the window and began rocking it back and forth as if he was trying to break it,” the report noted, per Page Six.

The other driver was able to roll up the window, allegedly apologized, and captured a photo of Ruelas’ license plate before driving away, according to the report.

A female witness was able to corroborate the other driver’s story and called the police.

According to the report, Ruelas admitted to the road rage incident but denied physically striking the other driver. After being charged with simple assault, Ruelas pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace and fined $325.

A source close to Ruelas commented on the altercation.

“This was a non-incident in 2018 and it’s even less of one in 2021,” the source told Page Six. “It was a disagreement between two grown men. There was no criminal conviction. The matter was resolved with a small fine and everybody went home.”

Ruelas is the co-founder of Digital Media Solutions and has been dating Giudice since November 2020.

After the reality star made the relationship “Instagram official” in December, the pair spent the holidays together and vacationed in Los Angeles and on the beach. Ruelas is set to appear in upcoming episodes of the Bravo reality series.

The relationship also came two months after the “Real Housewives” star  finalized her divorce from her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, who is currently living in his native Italy after being deported while serving his 41-month sentence for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud.

Last week, the mother of four reunited with her ex-husband and their daughters in the Bahamas. Ruelas was also in attendance, according to Us Weekly.
