“I was approached by the producer who I was working on a project called A Christmas PrayerJamie McCoy,” Lady of Rage said. “And she told me that this was actually an audition, the part that I had for Christmas Prayer, was an audition for Miss Cleo."

“And as she was telling me about it, I was just listening to her and she was like, ‘we have the rights and we plan on doing this project and we want you to play Miss Cleo.’ And I'm just standing there like mhm… because I wasn't processing it,” she continued.

Noting that throughout her career she’s been determined not to get “excited about things, because I've been let down so many times,” this time around, there was nothing to be disappointed about

“She said ‘I'm gonna send the script,’" Lady of Rage went on to note. “I was like, 'wow, this is really happening.' And then when I sat down with Tim Reed… I used to watch him on WKRP… Like the more it went into it, it just became real like, OK, this is really happening, get it together.”

Sharing how she tapped into Miss Cleo's character and accent, The Lady of Rage revealed, “I had to go and watch previous interviews and YouTube footage and things of that nature. Just watched her infomercials and just try to get into it that way.” Adding, “that’s the only way that's what was left,” since the Psychic Readers Network icon passed in 2016.

The Lady of Rage also talked about if she plans to put out more music, why she hasn't spoken on the drama surrounding Tupac's death, and more. To hear it all, listen to the entire conversation above.
