Just over two weeks following the death of The Oak Ridge Boys member, Joe Bonsall, the GRAMMY-winning group is paying tribute to their beloved bandmate with a new music video for “Promised Land.”

The song originally released as part of the group’s 2021 album, Front Porch Singin’, saw a surge in popularity following the news of Bonsall’s death as fans around the world posted and listened to it to honor Joe’s memory. Bonsall’s bandmates of 50 years decided to follow the fans’ lead and revamp the music video for the tune, which premiered via PEOPLE this week.

"[The video] is so very moving,” member Ben James told PEOPLE of the project that features clips from across the group’s career. “It makes me smile to think that Joe is now with the one he loved to sing about. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — nobody can get the message of a song across like Joe Bonsall."

Bonsall retired from the group in January 2024 as he battled ALS. Following his retirement from the group, he focused his energy on completing his memoir, I See Myself: Musings and Memories of a Blessed Life. The book is set to release November 2024 and reveal stories of Bonsall’s upbringing in Philadelphia, unwavering faith and historic run with The Oak Ridge Boys.

As the group continues to mourn the loss of one of their own, they plan to continue their cross-country trek with their American Made Farewell Tour. See the dates below.
