The official title of the third film in the Spider-Man franchise has been revealed.
After teasing various fake names, co-stars Tom Holland (Peter Parker), Zendaya (MJ) and Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds) revealed the latest chapter will be called “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” according to Marvel.
The trio made the announcement in a short video where the actors discuss being given incorrect names by the film's director Jon Watts.
“He gave us a fake name again … I just don’t understand why he keeps doing this,” Holland says.
“You don’t understand? I feel like it’s pretty obvious. You spoil things,” Batalon replies.
“I don’t spoil things. Name me one thing I’ve actually spoiled,” Holland says, as Zendaya responds, “The last movie title.”
As they walk out of frame, a close-up of a white message board with different titles crossed out comes into focus with “Spider-Man: No Way Home” prominently featured in the center.
The film is set to be released in theaters on December 17th, 2021.
Over the course of the last few days, Holland, Batalon and Zendaya have taken to social media with various fraudulent titles such as “Spider-Man: Phone Home,” “Spider-Man: Home Wrecker,” and “Spider-Man: Home Slice.”
The latest chapter of the wall crawling hero comes after the release of "Spider-Man: Far From Home" in 2019.
"Far From Home," which featured Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, earned more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
