A recent Vice documentary highlighting Vanessa Carlton's hit, “A Thousand Miles,” not only has fans falling in love with the song all over again, but also has us speculating who it might be about after Carlton spilled some tea to the cameras.

“@Vice did some digging and expertly uncovered the story of ‘A Thousand Miles’” Carlton wrote on her Instagram promoting the project.
Vice did some digging, alright. They uncovered new information about the song that we didn't know -- Carlton wrote the song about someone who is now a famous actor. *gasp*
"The song is about a crush I had on a Juilliard student," Carlton said in the documentary as she laughed. "I would never talk to this person. I was very shy... I had a better chance of falling up than ever having a relationship with this person.”
We know we aren’t the only ones dying to know who it is!
“I can't say the person's name because they're a famous actor and I don't want to say it,” Carlton continued before sharing that the actor does not know the song is written about them.
“The irony of the song is there’s something about it that is so unifying,” she said. “Everybody likes that song, from what I can tell.”
While Carlton is now married, squashing our hopes and dreams of the most epic love story of all time (21 years after the fact), our fingers are crossed she’ll share more deets so we can get our closure. We’re invested! Heck, we’d walk a thousand miles to just know who it is and we know you probably would too.
