Yes, it’s true. Kanye West was actually suspended from Instagram. Reportedly, the “Eazy” rapper was halted from the platform for 24 hours. Instagram removed West’s content on Wednesday after he directed a racial slur at The Daily Show host Trevor Noah.

A spokesperson for Instagram’s parent company, Meta, claimed that West’s suspension was due to violating policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment. Therefore, West was restricted from posting, commenting and sending DMs.
Noah initially discussed the ongoing feud between West and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian on his late-night talk show. “What she’s going through is terrifying to watch…What we’re seeing is one of the most powerful, one of the richest women in the world, unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing after her, to stop harassing her,” Noah said in a segment Tuesday night.
Along with posting a screenshot of Noah, West used the k*** slur towards the South African comedian in an Instagram caption. West particularly used the offensive word to replace the original lyrics in the song “Kumbaya”. According to The Guardian, Noah commented on the now-deleted IG post by saying: “You’re an indelible part of my life Ye. Which is why it breaks my heart to see you like this. I don’t care if you support Trump and I don’t care if you roast Pete. I do however care when I see you on a path that’s dangerously close to peril and pain…”
Kardashian previously called out West for mentioning their irreconcilable differences publicly, and for also posting threatening messages about her boyfriend Pete Davidson online. Furthermore, Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021 and was declared legally single earlier this month.
