In an incredible and candid post on Instagram, the actor shared an image of himself proudly, in a pair of briefs and nothing else. He shows off every angle of his current figure and embraces the fact that his body has shifted throughout a year-long pandemic.
Smith writes, “This is the body that carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days grazing thru the pantry. I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better. No more midnight muffins…this is it! Imma get in the BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!!!!! Teaming up with @YouTube to get my health & wellness back on track. Hope it works.”
With the constraints of the “ideal body image” in direct combat with the pandemic’s ability to change our mental health status, our eating habits, and movement routines, Will’s post comes at a time when many are struggling to feel okay in their own skin.
The actor’s empowering stance promotes a healthy way of accepting that our body constantly changes, particularly during a time of collective trauma. Smith does not push unrealistic images of weight loss in the post, but simply discusses the idea of getting back to a place where he “feels better.”
