Seventy years of marriage filled with lots of highs and a few hardships, our KNX Heroes of the week are celebrating an incredible milestone and sharing part of their journey with us.

The story of Court and Janet Braden spans decades and oceans thanks to several military deployments, a few job changes, and a couple of kids. Their story starts back in the early forties and fifties in a small town in Iowa. After graduating from high school, Court joined the military.
Court remembers, "A group of guys said, 'we were going to Omaha to enlist in the Air Force. Do you want to come along?' I said, yeah, I've never done that before."
Court went back to his hometown during a break and found out that a girl he liked was still single. "I got the pick of the litter," Court says about his loving wife, Janet.
The two got engaged, but Court was soon assigned overseas, so they decided to get married quickly. On April 17th, 1952. Shortly after their nuptials, Court was deployed to England.

Janet eventually joined him, and they spent several years there before moving back to the States. A few hardships then followed.
Court recalls not doing well, feeling the pains of being separated from his wife and son. "I just prayed - God, you gotta get me out of here."
Eventually, things took a turn for the better, and Court re-enlisted, eventually becoming a fighter pilot. He later fought on the front lines with Special Forces during the Vietnam War.
Court and Janet's journey led them back and forth between the U.S. and Europe. Eventually, they settled in Sacramento, where they raised two kids. As an adult, their daughter moved to Southern California, so Court and Janet followed.

Faith continues to be a big part of their lives, and they now spend their days ministering to others.
Celebrating 70 years of marriage Court and Janet Braden of Mission Viejo are our next heroes of the week.
