A recent survey finds that one-third of singles are more likely to go out with someone who is into the world of crypto finance.

Of 2,000 respondents, 33% said they would be inclined to date someone who mentions crypto in their dating profile, compared with 20% who said it would be a turn-off. The survey was compiled by cryptocurrency trading platform eToro.

Shelly Palmer — CEO of the Palmer Group in New York — said crypto investors probably do send certain signals that will appeal to some.

“You have to be a little bit of a daredevil, you have to be a little crazy, you have to have a little bit of money,” he told the WBBM Noon Business Hour.

Palmer said recent social gatherings he has attended indicate to him that people are very interested in cryptocurrency.

“What really this says more than anything is that everyone is trying to seek as much knowledge as possible, and if you say you have some of that knowledge, then you’re someone that people want to talk to,” he said.

Other results in the eToro survey indicated about 84% of respondents think it’s important to find a partner open to trying and experiencing new things. Also, about 55% said they check their banking and trading apps more than their dating apps.
