DETROIT (WWJ) -- First Lady Dr. Jill Biden has tested negative for COVID-19 while in Detroit on Thursday.

The announcement was made shortly after President Joe Biden revealed his COVID diagnosis.

Jill Biden has been in the city since Wednesday and is scheduled to visit Schulze Academy for Technology and Arts, alongside U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona.

The pair are on a two-day tour to highlight summer learning programs paid for by COVID relief money. After Detroit, First Lady Biden and Cardona will travel on to Georgia.

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said President Biden "is fully vaccinated and twice boosted and experiencing very mild symptoms."

She added: “He has begun taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time.
