A video that's been circulating the internet recently is giving "Jaws" a run for its money.

During a kayaking excursion, Paul Cleary found himself in the presence of several basking sharks, circling his boat. He was able to stick his camera in the water and get clear views of the beasts in their natural state.

Taken near Galley Head in Cork, Ireland, the video shows the calm surface of the water. Little do viewers know, the ongoings just below the surface would be enough to cause a scare.

Uploaded to Facebook on April 21, Cleary showed just how his kayaking adventure was made successful by coming across the exact basking sharks he was seeking in his travels.

According to Storyful, Cleary came across "at least eight large basking sharks feeding" in his time on the water.

While the encounter may seem scary, there is really nothing to worry about with these creatures.

According to Oceana.org, the basking shark is the second largest fish in the world and only feeds on tiny prey. That said, they're pretty harmless animals, even though they can grow to be 40 feet in length.

They spend much of their time near the surface of the water with their mouths agape, feeding on any planktonic prey that may enter into their swim line.

Basking sharks are second largest fish only to the whale shark, which can grow to be up to the size of a school bus.
