Foot pain can be extremely frustrating, because it can hurt with every step we take. There is an obvious cause for this pain that we often overlook.

It sounds so obvious. We step on a shard of glass or some other object, and days, weeks, or even a month later, we have pain in our foot, usually in one area, but with no obvious sign of injury.

Foreign body injuries that we forget about are a very common cause of foot pain, and often a simple X-ray can clearly show the foreign body and allow the physician to remove it easily.

Certainly there could be other causes, such as osteophytes (bony outgrowths) and neuromas (nerve irritation), but the first step to finding an answer and allowing you to have painless steps could be an X-ray.
