Cicadas are coming to invade... your dinner.

With summer approaching, Brood X cicadas are beginning to emerge, and along with it, a creepy new food trend.

While many will probably cringe over cicadas' loud mating sounds and avoid them at all costs, some restaurant owners are taking the opportunity to cook up the insects for a meal.

How do you feel about cicadas on your pizza?

The Pizza Bandit, a restaurant in Ohio, is testing out cicadas on a pizza. The menu item is called the Spicy Thai Cicada Pie, according to CNN.

However, the business is not actually selling the pizzas with cicadas on top of it.

A Facebook post revealed the new invention, and the business captioned a post the read, "We’re not even sure if we legally can sell you locally foraged Cicadas.”

In a Facebook video, the business debuted a tasting panel that tried the pizza. The quirky creation featured miso hoisin sriracha sauce, mozzarella, provolone, mushrooms, cabbage, green onion, mango, cilantro, and a spicy Thai sauce.

“Opinions of the pizza range from absolutely delicious to...well...uh...yeah...,” the Facebook post said.

While it may be fun to check out cicadas, you probably shouldn’t be dining on them. Especially if you’re allergic to shellfish.

The Food and Drug Administration is telling those who are allergic to seafood to avoid eating them, as they are related to the shellfish family.

The comment section on the FDA’s post was pretty entertaining.

One user said, “They should have stopped this statement before 'if.'”

While another person commented, “If I go on a cicada diet I only eat once every 17 years...now that's quite the fasting diet.”

Symptoms of allergic reactions to shellfish can include hives, flushed skin or rash, tingly or itchy sensation in the mouth, swelling of the face, tongue or lips, among many other signs.
