After 40 drawings, the winning numbers were drawn on Monday night that will make one person very rich, The Associated Press reported. The numbers 12, 22, 54, 66, and 69 were selected, with 15 as the Powerball.

For four months, the Powerball jackpot had continued to grow until it reached a mammoth $699.8 million, the seventh-largest in U.S. lottery history. The last winner of the jackpot was on June 5.

According to the California Lottery, a grocery store in Morro Bay sold the winning ticket.

The lucky ticket holder will be able to select whether they want to receive the annuity option, paid over 29 years, or the cash option of $496 million. Both options are subject to taxes.

A claim form has not been filed for the winning ticket, but five $1 million winning tickets were sold. There were two sold in Massachusetts and one each in Virginia, Florida, and Arizona.

Lottery officials noted that numerous people had won smaller prizes despite the long wait for a winning ticket, including 2.8 million players in Saturday’s drawing alone. However, those winnings aren’t as luxurious as the half a billion-dollar prize as they range from $1 million to $4.
