One woman is lucky to be alive after she narrowly escaped a landslide in north Wales beach moving towards her at a deadly rate.
On April 19, Amanda Stubbs was taking a stroll in Nefyn Beach when she noticed part of a nearby cliff crumbling down.
“This [video] was taken on the beach just 200 yards from our holiday home in Nefyn,” Stubbs said. She added, “Although I have seen the aftermath of many small landslides I have never witnessed one of this scale first hand.”
Nearly three minutes into the video, what starts as a light crumbing grows into a rapid collapse of an entire snowy mountainside. The quickly falling debris sends soil falling into the ground below, according to Yahoo News.
Police and emergency response were quick to arrive on the scene. They urged the public to “avoid the area until further notice.” Emergency and utilities services worked to make the beach safe for all guests to return.
No deaths or injuries were reported.
