The Indianapolis Colts selected University of Washington quarterback Jacob Eason with the 122nd overall pick in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Here's what you need to know about the quarterback:

Measurables: 6’6”/231

School: Washington

2019 Stats: 260/405 (64.2%), 23 TD, 8 INT, 3,123 yards

Strengths:

• Has size, arm strength and accuracy of prototypical NFL quarterback
• Commanding pocket presence, willing to stand in face of the rush
• Throws beautiful deep ball and can challenge secondary anywhere on the field

Weaknesses:

• Lack of mobility inside and outside the pocket
• Process slows when needed to make quick throws or faces mounting pressure
• Has a knack for holding onto the ball too long
• Must speed up working through progressions
• Could throw a softer ball

"Physically, Eason possesses the top arm of all the quarterbacks in this year’s draft and comes with huge upside. He also offers a lot of downside, as he lacks a large body of work and has played limited football the past three seasons. While he showed flashes of brilliance at times this year for Washington, there were also moments when he looked very pedestrian.

"Eason will need a lot of work on his game and should not be rushed onto the field. If coached correctly, he can be a productive starting passer at the next level; otherwise, Eason will consistently struggle." - Tony Pauline, Pro Football Network

Player Comparison: Brock Osweiler

Ok, Osweiler is not the comparison you’d like to see, but Eason is a big quarterback with a rocket arm, but is inconsistent and lacks mobility. His ceiling could be a Joe Flacco or Carson Palmer type quarterback, but until he establishes some more consistency and fixes some of his issues, you’re looking at a more Osweiler type passer.
