For the first time all season, Aaron Rodgers is the betting favorite to win the NFL MVP.

Sunday kicked off with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading the way as the favorite for the annual award. However, on Monday morning, Rodgers sat atop DraftKings Sportsbook's MVP oddsboard at -200, followed by Mahomes at +175.

On a cold and snowy December evening at Lambeau Field, Rodgers lit up the Tennessee Titans defense. He completed 21-of-25 passes for 231 yards with four touchdowns as the Packers rolled the Titans 40-14. The effort was enough for oddsmakers to make Rodgers the clear MVP favorite with only one week left in the regular season.

Mahomes, who was all the way up to -400 to win the award a few weeks ago, dropped to +140 after an average performance against the Atlanta Falcons. Facing the Falcons and their 31st-ranked NFL pass defense, Mahomes was limited to just 278 yards through the air. He passed for two TDs and was picked off once.

Rodgers opened +2500 to win MVP this summer but his odds have shortened throughout the season. Rodgers had been trailing Mahomes for the past month, but he finally overtook the Chiefs' star on Sunday night.

There’s a huge drop-off after Mahomes and Rodgers. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is a distant third at +1800. Allen plays Monday night against the New England Patriots. Derrick Henry, who was also in the running, rushed for 98 yards in a loss against the Packers, eliminating him from the race. Early-season favorite Russell Wilson is now a distant memory at 100-1.

Rodgers is now in the driver's seat to win his third MVP award.
