An outbreak of coronavirus among Tennesse Titans players after they faced the Vikings was a major topic in the NFL last week, and one that the Vikings Adam Thielen tackled on WCCO Friday morning.

“I”m feeling good, thankfully. It’s been a crazy week,” Thielen said.

NFL chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills and VP of health and safety innovation Jeff Miller sent a memo with enhanced COVID-19 protocols on Thursday following the outbreak on the Tennessee Titans. It reminds teams to act as though every person they come in contact with has a COVID infection.

So, what has that been like for the Vikings?

“You get used to your routines, that’s for sure. Wednesday was completely virtual,” he said, adding Thursday also brought virtual meetings and workouts and Friday brought a return to working out at the facility, but at a distance. “Different, but it’s one of those things where you can take advantage of the situationa and use it to take care of your body,” Thielen said.

He added he’s getting tested twice a day and “it’s a lot of protocols and things like that but they’re doing it for safety.”

Rather than seeing it as a negative, Thielen thinks the extra level of precautions this week actually gives the Vikings an advantage because players have been better able to take care of their bodied. “Guys are fresh and feeling good so hopefully that’s to our advantage.”

Through three weeks, Thielen has 12 catches for 170 yards and three touchdowns.

In addition to on-field play, Thielen got some attention for putting a birthday message for his wife on his cleats … and for his dance moves. He “gave his best shot” at “The Griddy” while celebrating his second-half touchdown against the Colts last Sunday.

Heavy.com reported, “It’s safe to say it still needs some work.”

Twitter users joked that a ref was like “let’s help this man.”
