This football season will mark 25 years since John Elway finally won his first Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos.
The Broncos started that postseason on wild card weekend and would eventually advance to the Super Bowl, where they were 11-point underdogs to the defending champion Green Bay Packers. The Packers were led by Brett Favre, but to former Bronco Alfred Williams, the matchup could not have been easier.
"That was an easy game, nobody feared the Packers." Williams said Wednesday on CBS Sports Radio's "The DA Show". "Where were they better than us? That's what I ask everybody ... Is Brett Favre better than John Elway?"
Williams also did not hold back when it came to game-planning.
"Going into the game we knew that Brett Favre would give us a chance," Williams said. That was the easiest big moment game that I have ever played in, in my life. We knew their hot reads on blitzes, when I tell you it was easy ... before we left Denver to go to the Super Bowl we had the game plan to beat that team."
This season the Broncos will hold a celebration of that Super Bowl XXXII-winning Denver team.
