Baker. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
The Cleveland Browns quarterback has been having fun in his postgame interviews, dropping rap lyrics as the wins keep on coming for Mayfield and the Browns, but this week he decided to change it up a bit.
Following a career day, in which he tied a franchise record for four touchdown passes in the first half and threw for 334 yards en route to a 41-25 win over the Tennessee Titans, Mayfield turned to a quote from “The Office” character Dwight Schrute when asked about his growth in 2020.
“Whenever I’m about to do something, I think to myself, ‘Would an idiot do that?’” Mayfield said. “And if they would, then I don’t do that.”
Mayfield’s postgame Easter eggs have been a fun addition to a season that has been quite an enjoyable ride for Browns fans. The team has guaranteed its first winning season since 2007 with Sunday’s win and at 9-3, the Browns are off to their best start since 1994 when Bill Belichick was coaching the team.
While they have not yet clinched a playoff berth, the Browns do appear to be in good position to reach the postseason for the first time since 2002.
Who knows what Baker has in store next week – on the field and at the podium.
