Rawlings released its list of Gold Glove finalists Thursday with winners to be announced November 7th at 8:30 PM ET on ESPN. This year’s crop should look familiar to Red Sox fans with outfielders Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Andrew Benintendi, all part of Boston’s World Series team in 2018, each making the cut as finalists in their respective leagues.

Betts is seeking his sixth straight Gold Glove and second as a member of the Dodgers. The former AL MVP faces stiff competition from fellow right-fielders Adam Duvall (who paced the NL with 113 RBI during the regular season) and Mike Yastrzemski, grandson of Red Sox great and seven-time Gold Glove recipient Carl Yastrzemski.

Meanwhile Bradley Jr., who held the lowest OPS in baseball among hitters with at least 400 plate appearances this year (.497), is one of three National League nominees in center field, joining division rivals Bryan Reynolds of the Pirates and Cardinals standout Harrison Bader. Known for his elite range and ability to come down with spectacular highlight-reel catches, JBJ won his only Gold Glove in 2018, claiming the award over Adam Engel and Mike Trout.

Benintendi, now of Kansas City, has been a finalist in left field three of the past four seasons, though the 27-year-old has yet to bring home a Gold Glove. His sliding catch to rob Astros slugger Alex Bregman in Game 4 of the 2018 ALCS, saving closer Craig Kimbrel from what would have been an all-time collapse, remains one of the lasting memories of that year’s World Series run.

Not a particularly strong defensive team this year (only the Marlins held a lower fielding percentage), the Red Sox garnered just one Gold Glove nomination with cannon-armed right-fielder Hunter Renfroe (league-high 16 outfield assists) hailing as their lone representative.
