If you’re craving a burger on your way to Fenway Park, there are plenty of options in the area to grab one. You can find basically any type of burger imaginable within walking distance from the ballpark. Here are some of the restaurants with the most mouth-watering burgers this side of Landsdowne Street.
If the burgers at Boston Burger Company weren’t special, it wouldn’t be in the name of the restaurant. The menu here is huge, with over 20 burgers on the menu, including the Big Papi Burger, the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, the Green Monster, the Vermonter and the Waikiki Beach. They even have The King, named after Elvis Presley, which includes what else but peanut butter, fried bananas and bacon. And if you happen to be in the mood for mac and cheese on your way to Fenway Park, Guy Fieri once called Boston Burger Co’s dish “a pretty rockin’ mac & cheese.” The mayor of Flavortown doesn’t just hand out compliments like that.

For almost 20 years, the Bukowski Tavern has been offering “great food, great beer, and surly service” to countless Red Sox fans and Bostonians generally. Just a short walk from Fenway Park, this is a great place to grab a burger before a game and, with its late-night hours, to grab a burger after the game too. The tavern has a small entrance but the food has big flavor, as its no-nonsense menu offers ballpark favorites and a selection of burgers, including a Peanut Butter Burger, Chili Cheddar Burger and Barbeque Bacon Burger. The bar is also stocked with craft drafts and bottles, mostly from Massachusetts breweries, because you can’t eat a burger before a baseball game without a beer to wash it down.

Burgers might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about the House of Blues but it should be a menu item to check out while you’re there. The massive music venue right across the street from Fenway Park serves a Crab & Salmon Burger and a Falafel Burger both of which are worth an order if you’re in the mood for something a little different. The House of Blues opens two hours before Red Sox games and is a fun place to stop before going to the ballpark or soak up the ambiance of Lansdowne Street in its outdoor seating area as fans gear up to go to the game.

UBurger caters to college kids and Red Sox fans and its flagship Kenmore Square location is right on the way to Fenway Park. The joint opened in 2006 and has become a staple in the area among locals for its selection of mouth-watering burgers, fries and frappes. The burger menu includes a cheeseburger, Big Papi Burger with jalapeños peppers, guacamole and chipotle sauce, a Grand Slam Burger with bacon, grilled onions and house sauce, the A+ Burger with A1 sauce and crispy onion strings and the All In Burger, which has jalapeno bacon and a fried egg. It’s Reuben Burger also recently returned to the menu to much fanfare. If you want a burger that will keep you satisfied through any day or night at the ballpark.
