Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have been direct rivals throughout their careers up until Manning retired after the 2015 season and have been compared in every way imaginable.
But Bruce Arians just added another thing to the list when comparing the two all-time great quarterbacks.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach, who was Manning’s quarterback coach in Indianapolis from 1998-2000, said on ESPN’s “NFL Sunday Countdown” that Brady actually throws a better spiral than Manning.
“Peyton was always very, very accurate, but the ball wouldn’t spiral all the time,” Arians said. “Tom gets really pissed when it’s not a spiral.”
While it is not a statistic that finds its way into any Brady-Manning debate, it is just another argument in Brady’s favor, which now seems lopsided.
Brady holds an 11-6 record over Manning head-to-head, leads Manning in all-time passing yards and passing touchdowns and, oh yeah, has those six Super Bowl rings to Manning’s two and is looking to add another.
You can now add “throws a better spiral” to that list.
