The Arizona Cardinals were reportedly beset by an outbreak of the coronavirus in the days leading up to their anticipated matchup against the Browns in Cleveland.

On Tuesday, the NFL's sole undefeated team placed star pass rusher Chandler Jones on the reserve/Covid-19 list, and since then, two staff members have tested positive, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.

A fourth positive test would subject the team to more rigorous protocols, the report said.

Coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters that Jones is vaccinated, and therefore will need to be asymptomatic and produce two negative tests at least 24 hours apart before he can be cleared to play, leaving his status for Week 6 in doubt.

Kingsbury also confirmed Jones was symptomatic.

Meanwhile star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who is famously not vaccinated, missed Wednesday and Thursday with an undisclosed illness. Quarterback Kyler Murray was limited at Thursday practice with a shoulder injury.

Their statuses for Sunday's game would be clearer with Friday's injury report.

If Murray suits up, he will face off against a fellow former Oklahoma quarterback in Cleveland's Baker Mayfield.

Kickoff was set for 4:05 p.m. ET.
